Just In: Nigeria to Boycott WEF in south Africa over xenophobic Attacks


Nigeria has joined Rwanda and other countries to boycott the World Economic Forum(WEF) on Africa 2019 which started today in Cape Town, South Africa following Xenophobic attacks against its citizens in the last one week.

The Forum had no Nigerian delegation in attendance during its kick-off.

Rwanda, Malawi and DR Congo, had also signalled their decision to pull out of the forum.
TheNation reports that President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo were meeting with Geoffrey Onyeama, the Minister of Foreign Affairs to explore possible options, including sanctions against the South African government.
