WHY HEADIES AWARDS WAS BOYCOTTED BY MOST TOP ARTISTS. ..

It is no longer news that the headies awards this year wasn't as glamorous as previous years.
From the tekno controversy, to top artists like Don jazzy and the Mavins, Olamide and Ybnl stars, Banky W etc, all snubbing the event, it has become imperative to take a look at what really went wrong.

Come to think of it, the headies was supposed to be the biggest music award in Nigeria,  it was supposed to attract not just Nigerian artists, but other top celebrities around Africa and even the the world.

But the reverse was the case.  If Nigerian celebrities cannot honour their local awards, why will outsiders take it serious?

The headies is our own Grammy awards, which we should be taking very seriously.
It's suppose to be getting bigger and better with each passing year. But with top celebrities like Olamide(last year) and tekno just recently blasting the organisers of not been fair and of been disrespectful. One would begin to wonder what is actually not right with our celebrities.

Most of the the negative attitude attitudes of some celebrities and their fans started last year when many music fans felt that Lil Kesh of the Ybnl should have won the Next Rated Artist category award instead of Reekado Banks of the Mavins.
But to my understanding, both artists were relatively good in the year under review, but only just one artist can take home the award!

I think the artists and fans should move on and try to support the organisers of the awards.  Because even Taylor Swift and Kanye West moved on and still supported the Grammy Awards after their infamous clash! Their fans did too.

Most times, award organiser's are always accused of been biased, but I think people should commend them for their good efforts, cuz it's never easy.

Tekno should go learn a thing or two about humility,  there's no doubt that he has been in the game for long and he deserved to be nominated in other categories aside the next rated category, , he should have been humble enough to acknowledge the  organisers and honour the event,  at least for the sake of his teeming fans worldwide.

I think blasting the organisers of the event and then getting disqualified was an all time low for him.
There's no doubt he should have won the award as I think he has done more work than Mr Eazi.

Anyways, shout out to Mr Eazi and all the winners of this year's headies award.
As for Wizkid, next time he should look for a better hoodie and dark shades to wear!

As for the organisers, they should listen to Mr capable and hold future events at another time of the year rather than in December.
Also I think they should review their broadcasting platform.  The event should be live on TV, it should also be available for live streaming to all Nigerian music lovers worldwide.

Finally, Nigerian celebrities should all come together and support the Headies Award, it's our Grammy Awards and it can only get better.

Looking forward to next year's edition.
